If i move all the other cideo clips to watch and hear the one clip it defaults to a layer i don’t want it and its a pain putting everything back. If i try and play the clip in the timeline i have to listen to all the other layers? How can i simply drag and drop a clip onto a specific layer without it defaulting elsewhere?Īlso i used to double click a video clip in the timeline and be able to view and listen to it in the viewer window. fcp X but i need to work the way i love working. The only work around I've found for this problem is this: while in Project A I use the range tool to select a chunk of video (set in and out points), I then hit Shift + F to find JUST that chunk of the clip and bring in up in the browser. Then I go to project B and I want to paste that using File -> Paste or Command V. I then copy that using File -> Copy or Command C. I go to project A and use the range tool to select a chunk of video from a video clip. I want to copy some footage from A into B. Here's the problem again: I have Project / Timeline A and I have Project / Timeline B. This problem has been mentioned in a few other posts as well but they turn into cold cases and the thread gets locked. I'm having the same problem discussed in this thread from 2020.
